Materials and Methods
Company New Heroes/ Biobased Creations

"Daring to radically look at and challenge the possibilities of designing and building a home", that is how the pioneers from the world of circular and biobased construction set to work. They present "The Exploded View". A scale model of a detached house made out of all kind of sustainable materials

Nomadic Circular Building
Buro Kade and partners

MONADS® do not focus on expansion, but on in-expansion. The city is a dynamic and resilient landscape to take on new initiatives and allow changes. A landscape in which the available space is larger than just public space. Between and in buildings, on roofs, underground. Empty churches, office buildings and retail properties do not attribute to the quality of life. MONADS® deploys temporary use to add value to the existing urban structures. Take a step back, make space. Make room for placemaking, plan procedures, consultation, and environmental dialogues. With MONADS® we create a living lab in the meantime to redefine valuable real estate. It can be and become anything.

EXPO Circular Design
THE NEW BLOCK Collection
Bygg Architecture and Design

Shifting the design process between the building itself, its remains and the architect’s design thinking. How to design upon the existing, to design circular? How to measure sustainability and use?
Being one of the first to enter the building before its transformation, was an important source of inspiration for BYGG architecture & design. Find out about the approach to The New Block’s challenging interior design.

Building Biobased Village
Team The New Block and
Tom van Duuren Bosbeheer

The New Block is a place for exhibitions, experiments, information and debate. Both inside and outside. A place with rooms for larger presentations and exhibitions, but also for more intimate meetings. A place where you can work yourself, or where you can make an appointment with a friend or colleague in an inspiring environment. Where there is much to see and where we celebrate progress and sustainability together. With its own catering and event area.

Next to The New Block there is an outdoor area which will become Biobased Village. An area where we envision a collection of circular/biobased and modular homes. A small village of good examples put together.
